ingredients
- - 6 large eggs
- - 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- - 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- - 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- - Salt and pepper to taste
- - Paprika or chopped fresh herbs for garnish (optional)
directions
- 1. Hard boil the eggs: Place the eggs in a single layer in a saucepan and cover them with water, ensuring there's about an inch of water above the eggs. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, cover the saucepan and remove it from the heat. Let the eggs sit in the hot water for about 10-12 minutes.
- 2. After 10-12 minutes, transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water to cool for a few minutes. This will help stop the cooking process and make the eggs easier to peel.
- 3. Once cooled, carefully peel the eggs and slice them in half lengthwise. Gently remove the yolks and place them in a separate bowl.
- 4. Mash the egg yolks with a fork until they are finely crumbled.
- 5. To the mashed yolks, add the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, white vinegar, salt, and pepper. Mix well until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- 6. Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture into the hollowed-out egg whites, dividing it evenly among the halves.
- 7. Optionally, sprinkle paprika or chopped fresh herbs on top of each deviled egg for garnish.
- 8. Chill the deviled eggs in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.
- 9. Once chilled, serve and enjoy your delicious deviled eggs with Dijon mustard and mayo!
