One of the standout features of Olive Tree Cafe is its Monday evenings, where the place comes alive with the soulful tunes of their live music house band at 9 PM. It's the perfect way to kickstart the week, immersing oneself in the rhythm of the music while enjoying delicious food and drinks.
During the day, Olive Tree Cafe offers a laid-back ambiance with a touch of nostalgia, as they showcase classic Charlie Chaplin movies on the screen. It's a delightful experience to sip on a glass of wine while being transported into the whimsical world of Chaplin's iconic films.
Speaking of food, Olive Tree Cafe pleasantly surprised me with the quality of their offerings. The crab cakes were an absolute highlight, bursting with generous chunks of crab meat that were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The nachos were equally impressive, generously portioned and ideal for sharing between two people. Each bite was leaving me eager to explore more of their menu.
While the cocktails were decent, they didn't quite reach the same level of excellence as the food. My old fashioned had more simple syrup than needed and lots of small ice that melted very quickly.
Overall, Olive Tree Cafe is a beautiful place in West Village, offering a delightful blend of entertainment, delicious food, and a cozy ambiance. Whether you're seeking a lively evening of live music or a relaxing afternoon with classic films and wine, this charming cafe has something to offer for everyone. I can't wait to return and indulge in more of their delectable dishes.
